Adam Bentley Clausen

CoFounder, Co-CEO

A visionary entrepreneur, transformative justice reform advocate, and devoted family man, Adam Clausen’s life story is a testament to resilience, redemption, and the pursuit of excellence. With a profound commitment to creating meaningful change, Adam has turned his remarkable journey into mission to inspire others and drive social impact across communities and industries.

In 2001, Adam faced the staggering challenge of a 213-year federal prison sentence. Instead of succumbing to despair, he embarked on a relentless pursuit of self-improvement and service to others. During his incarceration, Adam uncovered a deep passion for health, fitness, and personal development. Becoming a certified coach, he dedicated himself to helping others build mental fortitude and resilience through physical challenge, ultimately fostering hope and community even in the most unlikely places.

Adam trained and led a community of over 100 incarcerated coaches who transformed the culture throughout the prison and who then went on to accomplish some pretty amazing things upon their release in communities all across the country. Adam’s tireless efforts and extraordinary transformation did not go unnoticed. On August 12, 2020, after serving 20 years, 5 months and 17 days his perseverance and a relentless drive to uplift those around him was finally acknowledged. Adam was granted immediate “compassionate release” under the First Step Act of 2018 and stepped out into the life he had envisioned and created for himself and his family.

Upon re-entering society, he embraced his second chance with unwavering determination, building a life centered on service, innovation, and empowerment. As an expert in cultural transformation, conflict resolution, leadership and personal/organizational development, Adam has inspired audiences nationwide through keynote addresses, workshops, and advocacy initiatives. His compelling testimony before the United States Sentencing Commission and House Judiciary Committee Staffers has helped advance meaningful reforms within the justice system.

He now serves as:

- Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Legacy Impact Group LLC, a company focused on driving Real Impact through justice reform, economic development, and second-chance initiatives

- Strategic Partner with Reform Alliance and Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM), helping advance policy and reentry programs for system-impacted individuals

- Appointed Member of the United States Sentencing Commission’s (USSC) Sentence Impact Advisory Group (SAIG)

Charles Duke Tanner

CoFounder, Co-CEO

A strategic thinker and community advocate with a Champion’s mind-set, Duke Tanner brings invaluable experience in public speaking and community engagement. His dedication to social justice and community empowerment aligns perfectly with Charles “Duke” Tanner was born in Gary, Indiana, and began boxing at just six years old. He trained under the legendary William Murphy and worked with Angelo Dundee, the iconic trainer of Muhammad Ali. In 1996, Duke earned a bronze medal at the Junior Olympic World Games and went on to a perfect 19-0 professional record.

At age 24, Duke’s life changed when he was sentenced to double life in federal prison for a non-violent drug conspiracy, despite being a first-time offender. His sentence was later reduced to 30 years, and he served 16. On October 21, 2020, President Donald J. Trump granted Duke clemency. On May 28, 2025, during President Trump’s second term, Duke received a full presidential pardon.

Since returning home, Duke has committed his life to helping others transform theirs. He founded the urban clothing line Freedom 20-0, launched food drives feeding hundreds of families in Gary, and partnered with more than 75 Black leaders to uplift communities.

He now serves as:

- Ambassador for Prison Reform & Reentry with the Aleph Institute, where he personally visits incarcerated men and women to assess their readiness for a second chance

- Faith & Fatherhood Advocate with the Jack Brewer Foundation, working on the American Heroes Fatherhood Initiative and supporting prison-based second chance events

- Speaker and Advocate with the America First Policy Institute, pushing for policy reforms that strengthen families, communities, and reentry opportunities

He has spoken to thousands across the country—in churches, prisons, schools, and camps—and reached tens of thousands more online through media interviews and podcasts.

He spreads a message of faith, fatherhood, and second chances, grounded in lived experience and spiritual conviction.Duke is the bestselling author of The Duke Got Life, available on Amazon. He is a proud husband to Shannon Tanner (married December 30, 2024) and father to his only son, who earned his master’s degree at just 22 years old. Through his marriage, he also gained two daughters and a granddaughter, Kali Williams, who he loves dearly. He is a member of New Direction Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has been blessed to have a mentor like Julio Gonzalez, CEO of Engineered Tax Service mission of Legacy Impact Group.
